Little Step - Elite Arts Academy

Little Steps

Little Steps is a class designed to introduce our 2 year old students to the concepts of tap and ballet. Basic Pre-Tap and Pre-Ballet skills are introduced at this level. Classes are 45 minutes long. Maximum eight students per class. Class is guided by a teacher and an assistant.

Pre Dance - Elite Arts Academy

Pre-Dance

Pre-Dance is a class structured for 3 to 5 year old students. It is designed to implement the concept of tap and ballet basic techniques and terminology. In this class students can build discipline and confidence. Class is guided by a teacher and an assistant.

Flamenco - Elite Arts Academy

Flamenco

Flamenco is considered a Spanish genre of music and dance. It is known by the grace movement of the hands as well as the controlled rhythmical movements of the feet. It is characterized by forceful, often improvised rhythms.

Jazz - Elite Arts Academy

Jazz

Jazz dance is a style of dance that requires flexibility and ballet foundation. It is characterized by syncopated rhythms, ensemble playing, and varying degrees of improvisation. Jazz is considered a form of dance shared by a broad range of dance styles. It is frequently influenced by other dance styles such as Acro, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop. Last, as in most forms of dance, technique is the foundation for all Jazz movements and Jazz dancers benefit from Ballet technique.

Hip-Hop

Hip-Hop is a mix of today’s high-energy street dancing. It is designed to teach coordination, strength, and endurance. It’s a style of dance primarily danced to Hip-Hop music or that have evolved as part of Hip-Hop culture. What separates Hip-Hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often improvised and Hip-Hop dancers frequently engage in battles (informal freestyle dance competitions). Because of this development, Hip-Hop dance is now practiced at both studios and outside spaces.

Ballet

Ballet is a Classical type of dance characterized by the grace of movement. It is considered the foundation of all other forms of dance. Its meticulous attention to technical detail makes it invaluable for any serious dancer. Ballet technique is traditionally very strict because perfection in key principles and steps is considered its foundation. Finally, Ballet is encouraged strongly at a young age to build good habits and protect the dancer’s muscles, limbs, bones, and health.

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a dance performance genre that developed during the mid twentieth century and has since grown to become one of the dominant genres for formally trained dancers throughout the world, with particularly strong popularity in the U.S. and Europe. Contemporary dance tends to combine the strong and controlled legwork of ballet with modern dance’s stress on the torso.

Acro - Elite Arts Academy

Acro

Acro is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements. Acro dance is also known by other names including Acrobatic Dance and Gymnastic Dance, though it is most commonly referred to simply as Acro by dancers and dance professionals. Acro is an especially challenging dance style for dancers, as it requires them to be trained in both dance and acrobatic skills.

Pointe - - Elite Arts Academy

Pointe

Pointe is an advanced type of ballet that is performed on the tips of the toes. Pointe means “on the tip” and is a part of classical ballet technique, usually practiced using specially reinforced shoes called Pointe shoes or toe shoes. It’s technique developed from the desire for dancers to appear weightless and has evolved to enable dancers to dance on the tips of their toes for extended periods of time.

Belly Dance is a Middle Eastern dance in which the dancer makes sensuous movements of the hips and abdomen. It is sometimes also called Middle Eastern dance or Arabic dance in the West. It is something of a misnomer as every part of the body is involved in the dance; the most featured body part usually is the hips.

Latin Dance

Latin Dance is a style of dance that consists of different Latin dances such as Salsa, Merengue, and Ballroom. Latin dance includes a wide range of dances originating in Latin America, Puerto Rico and Cuba. Examples include the Cha-cha-cha, Rumba, Samba, Salsa, Mambo, Merengue, Bachata, and Bolero.

Lyrical - Elite Arts Academy

Lyrical

Lyrical is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet with jazz and contemporary dance techniques. Lyrical dancing is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express strong emotions. It concentrates more on individual approach and expressiveness than the precision of the dancer’s movements.
